APLI 2009 new Information

Dear Colleagues,
APLI Asia has closed its application except for Health and Security. You still can choose the Health or Security APLI if I get the application forms by January 15.

We have extended the application deadline for Africa to February 2. Please note that Finance will be taught in English and French. Please indicate on the application if you are taking French or English. Emergency Management has a one week theory course and one week simulation in the field. Latin America will be in Spanish.

Participation is limited to full time ADRA employees whose work responsibilities are directly associated with the training course being offered. It is expected that participants already have academic training and professional experience in the area of their job responsibility. The goal of each training session is that each participant is able to demonstrate the competencies relevant to their position in a manner, which is consistent with ADRA’s operational policies, practices and procedures.

Attached to this email announcement is the APLI Application form to be used for all APLI Competency Based training sessions. Country Directors are to submit one application for each employee for whom participation is requested. A current job description must accompany each application. Please return the application and job description to APLI@adra.org

Classes are normally limited to approximately 25 individuals. Participants for each training course will be selected by the ADRA Professional Leadership Management Committee. Notification regarding participant acceptance will be sent no later than two weeks following the application deadline. Please note the following application deadlines based on the delivery location:
Africa February 2, 2009
Latin America May 15, 2009

All training sessions in Thailand are offered in English, in Kenya English except for Finance which will be offered in English and French. All training sessions offered in Latin America are in Spanish.

By submitting an application, the country office agrees to pay the participant fee associated with each course. The participant fee for a one-week course is US $200 and US $400 for a two-week course. This includes lodging, meals and training materials. The country office is also responsible for participant transportation, hotel incidentals and lodging before and after the actual training dates. An additional fee of US $50 per night will be charged for participants who are accompanied by their spouse.
